okbowman
Just wonderin what would be good here in Oklahoma for spring and summer, there are almost no row crops in our area. The soil is sandy. I'm wanting to improve their nutrition during the antler growing season. Help Please!

dogdoc
Re: What to plant in Spring/Summer for deer? what part of Oklahoma? For a spring planting I would recommend sticking with annuals. I plant a mixture of cowpeas, soybeans, oats, millet, milo, and a forage sorghum.

Thayer
Re: What to plant in Spring/Summer for deer? Your peas and beans will provide a great amount of nutrition, the peas need something to climb on, so the milo and sorghum are good for that. You might try some sunflowers, but once the deer find the sunflowers, in the young stages, the sunflowers will be hammered. Dogdoc has a great grip on what grows good in OK...
