Re: CASINOS...

I have no problem with casinos in general. BUT...

Money spent in tribal casinos is money the tribes use to hire attorneys and such to further expand their rights to further decimate local fisheries. Too many lakes in the upper midwest have been virtually speared out because of various court victories by the tribes.

When natives can decimate a fishery like Minnnesota's Red Lake and others by harvesting thousands of pounds of gamefish, while non-native fishermen are limited to one or two fish per day something is seriously amiss.

I refuse to donate my hard earned wages to support tribal legal cases that further enhance their abilities to take overly abundant amounts of fish and game, while futher limiting the amount of game I am able to take.

Re: CASINOS...

I used to when they started opening them up around here but I haven't gambled in a casino in I don't recall how many years now.

The way I figure it, I gamble enough in my own business and when I loose, I can write it off. Hard to to keep with casino looses to write them off and very few people bother to do it.

Re: CASINOS...

I have been in a few in Nevada in Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Sparks, Stateline, Virginia City, and other small towns. Played a while at Blackhawk and Central City in Colorado. Visited a few in Atlantic City, NJ and Charlestown Raceway in WV. A small casino near Des Moins, Iowa, and a casino in Aruba.

Re: CASINOS...

Around here there's a bit of animosity between the hunting/fishing crowd and the Native Americans who own all the casinos.

They've started exercising all their old treaty rights and do a lot of serious netting of the walleye population on the bigger lakes. They do it during the spawning season of course...

So I never go to their casinos just out of principal.

Most of the hunting/fishing people I know don't go either.
