Gus Posted January 31, 2006 Report Share Posted January 31, 2006 A friend of mine has some hog dogs and now that deer season is over and turkey season is a few months away we took the dogs out to my place and caught a few hogs. Gus Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Share Posted February 1, 2006 Re: Hogs with Dogs We put them in a pen with some more that we have trapped and sometime this month we are going to sell them, The bay dogs find the hogs and get cornered and keep it in the area while we run in and let the catch dogs loose. The catch dogs latch on to the hog and we go in and grap the hogs back leg and flip it over on it side and tie its feet together so that it can't get back up. [/ QUOTE ] No, not a great dane, they are not my dogs, so I can't tell you for certain what kind it is, but it is a curr dog or curr cross dog of some type. HuntnMa Posted February 4, 2006 Report Share Posted February 4, 2006 Re: Hogs with Dogs very nice !!!!!!!!!!! i took this past week off to do some hog/dogging myself.....but i only got to go 3 times, which was a bummer, but it was fun......i wanted to go everyday, or at least until we got on some hogs.the first day we got on one in the marsh, fricking sawgrass is NOT your friend,lol.....but i was lucky only a small cut on my face....the dogs just couldnt get that hog, it was running through the tunnels, the dogs would get it, then it would break and run the other way, finally after about 45-60 minutes , we stopped the dogs, they were wearing out and would of been no good if they would of continued...other 2 days it was just walking through the woods....but like i said i had a blast, got to go to places i havent been in a year, wouldnt go in em without a dog with me, lol....if you go again , get one for me Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
