PAbowhunter86
Hey guys I just got my B-day present from my parents today. It is an Ameristep Stackhouse Blind. I cant wait to use it. I have heard some great things about blinds and most of the good spots I find would be great for a blind mainly because the trees aren't good for climbing stands. Well tell me what you think about blinds and there usefullness or their drawbacks? I would love to here about both sides.

If they are not real roomy, they can be testy with a bow, to say the least.
M00N
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! I agree with everyone else, the smaller compact blinds are a chore to draw back a bow in and not hit the sides or have some sort of restrictions. The blind I have was purchased for turkey hunting and fits 3 hunters in it, so it's pleanty big enough for bow hunting even has windows made for bow in it so when I get into archery deer hunting eventually I'll probably be using it when I don't feel like lugging a big ladder stand into the woods for tree hunting. Straight Shooter
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! I had the Ameristep Doghouse, and tried it out groundhog hunting, summer before last. It was very cramped and I could only draw back in one direction, from corner to corner. Soooooo, I up graded to the Brickhouse and now have plenty of room. No chance of hitting the side or even the top of the blind with my bow. I can also fit two fold-out chair and hunt with my son in it for squirrels. It's got the hub concept, so it breaks down easily and fits into a backpack style sack.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! The outhouse is not really suited for archery, the Doghouse, Stackhouse, & Brickhouse are all great blinds for bowhunting and you will have plenty of room in it. Should work great. I have had deer with feet of it and turkeys sometimes too close. You will like it. Most of the people that get them biggest complaint is learning how to fold it up and put it back in the pack. Once you learn how to do that, its a piece of cake and a great blind for run and gun type hunting. Have fun with it!
Chrud
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! I have a Brickhouse TSC for bowhunting. It is huge! As long as you can draw your bow it any direction, they there aren't really any draw backs to bowhunting from a blind.
rockefeller66
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! they are GREAT for turkeys but for whitetails they are tough, whitetails don't like them unless they are setup for a while before the hunt, they aren't a very good thing to use if you just want to set one up for a quick whitetail hunt but for turkeys put them in the middle of anywhere just make sure to keep the inside DARK and minimize your movement and you are fine! BowJoe
Re: Blind Hunting!!!! I used the Brickhouse and the Roundhouse. Both are very roomy but not good for tall hunter. The windows are too low for me and when I go to shoot, I may be able to get the arrow gone but I can't see what I'm shooting at past 15 yds.
