I bought it and loaded part of Pa. and Missiouri in it and did not take it on the trip it was bought for. It has never been in the woods. It is waterproof, with alot of extras. It includes a PC cable, 16 MB total built in maps, secure digital memory card slot and I have the memory card installed in it. The marine grade is not just for boating and can be used for land navigation as well. If your a boater than you got the best of both worlds. If dropped over board it will float.
