If you are beginner try to get single reeds or double. They are easiest to use.I still use a double reed call that I learned with.Once you get it down then move to the Vcut and multi reed calls.I like H.S strut calls.I use several different brands and style's.

I have been using mouth calls for over a year and would like to know what you more experienced callers prefer.

I use Mountain Side Game Calls (717-535-5186) I like the dominant hen as well as the Ultra Cutter. They also have a great video on running and careing for calls. The best ways to operated a particular call. If you want any info, PM me

Try a single reed and practice, practice, practice. Try calling on your way to work, one you perfect it or at least sound like a decent turkey, then try something else, then again single reeds work great for calling in birds.

As for what brand, all of them on the market are generally good. I have used Quaker Boy, HS Strut, and Primos and no complaints there.

I bought some yellow/green quaker boy mouth calls in a pack of three last year and they have been the easiest and most realistic sounding calls i have ever owned
