too_pointer
It sounds like you have been doing your homework LOL. I have an Encore also, but I myself don't like using a fouled barrel. I adjust my sights off a clean barrel. There are many in here who use the fouled method, and that is fine. I don't want the guess work, a clean barrel is always the same. too_pointer
too_pointer
Re: Fouling Question? TC, all I can say is that by shooting it at all different conditions will tell you. If you feel like it does better after fouling, by all means do it. I use 777 also, but in pellet form, it shouldn't make a difference. Muzzleloaders are a different breed, guns can be very different !! It can be a pain to try every different thing out in them and time consuming. Go with what you are confident with. I spend the off season to play and tinker with different loads. too_pointer
Guest RandyWakeman
Re: Fouling Question? [ QUOTE ] My question is about hunting with a fouled barrel. If I take a fouling shot or shoot a squib load the night before the hunt and get loaded up for the following day how long can I hunt with the fouled barrel without fearing corrosion will begin? Do I need to unload and clean it the following night and repeat the procedure again? [/ QUOTE ] I always hunt with a fouled barrel, shoot it out, and re-foul the next AM for POI reasons.
