Guest guess
My wife and I hunted this evening for hogs! we checked a couple of mud holes and walked through some thickets .Michelle busted a small boar out of some brush ,but couldn't get a shot.we moved to another patch of timber and eased through quietly.I came up on a few hogs in a thicket ,1 was rubbing a tree about 60 yards away .I took aim and fired hitting her in the neck. She dropped and pigs went everywhere,I picked out a smaller one that was running down a trail, also about 60 yards and shot it in the neck as well! I heard my wife shoot as pigs ran past her.I quickly moved to the edge of an open filed as a hog broke cover I fired a bit late reloaded and led her a bit,as she was now running wide open at about 140 yards,I pulled the trigger on my ruger .243 and struck her just behind the ear with a Remington 100 gr.core-lokt! the brown looking sow ,which I shot first{the one on the right} had been shot before ,between her jowl and chest, low in the neck you can easily see in the picture ,the entry and the exit! it was very nasty and full of fly larva!unfortunately I had had to leave her for the coyotes! if you look closely you can see the bullet hole behind the ear of the black hog! Michelle thinks she missed hers ,she didn't find blood and there was brush between her and the hog when she fired!

I don't offer any due to the fact that in my area they are almost imposible to pattern! good luck

Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: 3 pigs 2-2-06 Ditto on the patterning. I saw a bunch back in November when deer season opened. We killed 8 or 10 during the first week, then they just disappeared. I killed another 350 lb boar on the first weekend in January. If it wasn't for the inconsistency, I'd let folks come out and shoot all they wanted for $100 per day. But I'm sure as soon as I did, all of the hogs would disappear again and all I'd have to show for it would be a bunch of disappointed hunters. I have a friend that runs a high fence place guys are always killing things they don't want so he gives them to me and I dress them out for the freezer!
