Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: MUST SEE! VIDEO OF CANNED HUNT! Jimmy Houston! [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If he fishes in a small private lake thats been stocked with giant bass, is he also guilty of unethical fishing practices? Just curious. [/ QUOTE ] BIG DIFFERENCE THOUGH! The fish are returned ALIVE! The fish are not drugged. Did you watched the video? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe they're returned alive, maybe not. And there's always a certain percentage (very low usually) of delayed mortality from catch and release. I did watch the video and it's certainly not something I'd be interested in doing or even something I'd advocate making legal. Can't for the life of me see why anyone would want to participate in that type of "hunt". But, what I was getting at with my question is a personal consistency check for everyone who's condemning Houston's actions. How many people wouldn't hesitate to fish a small lake that had been heavily stocked with fish, but would balk at hunting a 13,000 acre high fenced ranch? I see little or no difference in the two. Hoyt03
Re: MUST SEE! VIDEO OF CANNED HUNT! Jimmy Houston! Large tracts of high fenced areas are not as easy as most would think. Some of these areas are bigger then the town I live in. I see no problem with high fenced areas that are 1000's of acres big
Guest generallee
Re: MUST SEE! VIDEO OF CANNED HUNT! Jimmy Houston! I dont even have words to describe the anger inside me when i watch something like that. How can you call yourself a sportsman when you participate in that garbage. That is WRONG
Guest deerhntnwithdogs
Re: MUST SEE! VIDEO OF CANNED HUNT! Jimmy Houston!?!? For all of you who actually try to justify or describe jimmys actions think of this. How can you compare a deer being chased around in a 5 acre pen to a pond of fish. There arent scuba divers in the water corraling the fish to be shot. Plus the fish have to cooperate in that case deer do not. It is just not comparable. As for the realtree guys. Fact is where comparing apples to bananas here. Your comparing a 4-6 acre fenced in pen the size of a rabbit pen to a 6000 acre pen. There is a difference and while I will not nor ever have hunted in a pen nor do I condone it or promote it in anyway, There is a HUGE difference in 4 and 4000 acres. Im sure there are pens that are so big that the deer never see the fences. Im not supporting them Im just saying that you cant compare the 2. Hogs in a pen is different however because hogs cause MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR destruction when turned loose. Look at Blackwater were I live in Chesapeake VA. It has gotten to the point where they are to be shot on site in some parts of back bay out here. Its rediculous how much damage they can do and sometimes its not about making the hunt easier by keeping them in a pen its about controlling the wildlife and protecting the land and its inhabitants. So in that aspect depending on the hog pen size I do feel ok DEPENDING on them.
FSU_Seminole
Re: MUST SEE! VIDEO OF CANNED HUNT! Jimmy Houston! These videos amount to nothing less than MURDER. What's the difference in shooting a deer in a pen from shooting a defenseless dog or cat in a pen? This type of stuff makes me sick to my stomach!!!!
