Re: ARROW WEIGHT FOR DEER???????

My arrow setup with broadhead weighs 385 grains. Its a good balance. If your wondering about what you should be close too, goldtip has a program may help you in this area. Just build the custom arrow according to your specs and see if it checks out. www.goldtip.com "Build your own arrow."

Re: ARROW WEIGHT FOR DEER???????

For compound shooters its wise to be no lower then the minimum 5 grains per pound of draw weight.

Most manufaturers use this a minimum for there designs and warentee.

Trad shooters tend to use 8 to 11+ grains per pound.

Mine are at 490g total off my 56#@25" recurve...

Re: ARROW WEIGHT FOR DEER???????

Well that depends on what you are looking for. I don't really care about speed for Whitetails from a tree stand. I prefer 7 or 8 grains of arrow weight per pound of draw weight for my white tail setup. You will still have plenty of speed with most compounds around today and also have a nice sturdy arrow.

The most important part is to make sure that your setup is tuned to perfection.
