AJ
I have been using this gadget for the past 6 years or so and I have found it can make a big difference in how the muzzleloader shoots. Its a bore guide that is made from Delrin (plastic nylon kind of stuff) that I machined half of the outside diameter to fit my bore and the inside has a hole just big enough for my ramrod and bullet guide to slip through. I made a groove in the to to allow the guide to be attached to a call lanyard. This way while I am hunting or at the range, the guide is hanging around my neck and I don't have to look for the last place I had it. Thet guide goes over the ramrod and slips in the bore guiding the ramrod, bullet/sabot, cleaning patch, etc down the center for the bore. The rod never touches the rifling and definately never touches the crown. This will prolong the accuracy of the gun. This is the guide on my Encore handgun Power Rod: This is a closeup of the guide:
VTbowman
Re: Bore Guide/Crown Saver You selling these? I want one for a 50 cal ML and a 7mm08 rifle. Where can I send the money order?
rockefeller66
Re: Bore Guide/Crown Saver that is a good deal, just so the ram rod or cleaning rod doesn't hit the grooves right?
AJ
Re: Bore Guide/Crown Saver Yep, but more so so the rod does not rub against the crown.
