hangunnr
I have a Leupold QD mount on one of my Remington ML. It's a pretty nice way to go. The rings lock in very well. I've experienced no change in point of impact after removing then reinstalling the scope. hangunnr
AJ
Re: Quick detach scope mount I have them on both of my Knight Disc Elites and like Hangunnr said, they work very well. I remove the scope when I do a big cleaning and the POI does not shift when the scope goes back on. I like them.

tped
Re: Quick detach scope mount I use the Leupold QR rings with Weaver style bases on my Encore and Omega. No problems at all. Makes for a good idea when traveling to hunt. Sight a second scope in rings to take with you in case of scope problems for an easy and quick change. Saves taking a second gun when space and weight are limited.

AJ
Re: Quick detach scope mount [ QUOTE ] I have never heard of it, what would be the purpose? [/ QUOTE ] The purpose is to allow the shooter to remove the scope for whatever reason (cleaning, different load, etc) and replace it without it loosing zero. Say if you wanted to shoot the same gun for deer and moose. Your favorite deer load used a duplex sabot and light weight bullets. You can zero one scope for the light load and when you go for moose and want to use 300 gr bullets, just swap scopes with one that is already sighted in and load the new load. too_pointer
Re: Quick detach scope mount The TC Encore will not fit in many hard guncases, so I can fit it by taking the scope off in an FA case for flying it in an airplane., which I have done, right back to zero. I also have a great soft case for it which does not require any scope removal. too_
TurkeyHunter
Re: Quick detach scope mount Another good reason would be if you hunt out of state. Reason being I have a scope on my gun and recently hunted out of state and couldnt use a scope. So I had to remove it now Ill have to reinstall the scope and re-site it in again.
