[/ QUOTE ] Exactly.....Im not a Hoyt shooter, but dont go to the pro shop with your mind set on Hoyt. Shoot several different brands nd get the bow that shoots the best for you and feels the most comfortable to you. I was leaning more toward the XTEC and only shot that one. It was a big mistake. I shot the Outback and Switchback in 2005 and prefered both over the XTEC. Hoyt makes many great bows. you need to find one that is good for you. sit down and ask yourself what do i want to have this bow do for me? Hunt only , 3d or maybe indoor spot shooting or a combination of 2 or 3. determine what you want to spend. yes Hoyt bows are spendy, but worth it in my opinion. then it depends on how long a axle to axle bow you want. short or long. once oyu get these asked , then can you go through the Hoyt lineup looking for what fills the bill. the new Trykon and Trykon Xl are good for both 3d and hunting . but they are draw specific. which means that if you buy one you need to be dead on knowing your draw length . also they are heavy bows as well. the Trykon XL weighs in at 4 lbs 11.2 ounces. and the Trykon is 4 lbs 8 ounces . also in the short lineup is the Powertec and Lasertec. these are not machined aluminum risers and cost a little less than the others. but still good bows for 3D and hunting. speed for them runs around 295 and 302. axle to axle is 34 inches. then you have the Vtec which will also fill the hunting / 3D bill. speed is 305 with a 35 inch axle to axle. then my favorite comes into play, which i own is the Ultratec . at 37 1/2 inches axle to axle and 310 speed. i think its the best choice for a 1 bow to do everything. hunting with it is awesome. for 3D and indoor spots its legendary. you have other bows above this, i shoot a Protec that is awesomre also . it has a bigger brace height than the ultratec and a little slower , but its a real shooter that will doo everyhting oyu ask. the Elite bows are very spendy . if you want tp get the very best hoyt offers , then these are it. at around 900 bucks a piece for the bare bow you will get exactly what you pay for. the top Pro shooters from hoyt rely on these bows for there competition shooting.. try a few of these , remember that the kind of stabilizer you put on the bow will make them feel totally differant. try to use what gear you have to test these bows. I shoot a Hoyt Vtec, and the grip is what I like the most as far as comfort goes........it's a thin grip and fits the groove in my hand like a glove. I had never shot a reflex but had investigated Hoyt and Reflex as well as others and settled on the Grizzly. I made a good choice for myself. I love it.
