dogdoc
Just for fun--who do you think is the best fisherman of all time and the best hunter of all time? Fisherman: Kevin VanDam Hunter: Jim Shockey I struggled with the best hunter between Shockey, Chuck Adams, and Fred Bear. I chose Shockey for his accomplishments as both a hunter and a guide. todd

I do have to agree that the Wensel brothers don't get the respect they deserve. Don't really get into the pro fishing stuff.....How 'bout Mike Ikonelli? Chrud
Re: Best Fisherman/Hunter..... Hunter - Greg Miller Fisherman - Al Linder Maybe not the best ever, but my favorites. You can ALWAYS count on them to close the deal.
BuckNrut
Re: Best Fisherman/Hunter..... Not sure about fishermen/women, but my first thought for my favorite "hunter(s)" are: Our TROOPS in the Middle-East.

muggs
Re: Best Fisherman/Hunter..... Is this a best bass fisherman post or what? I'd have to say the best fisherman ever would be a fly fisherman...someone like Lefty Kreh, or Roger Haig-Brown. Those guys have caught everything from wild Brookies to 350 lbs. Tarpon and sharks on light fly tackle. Not taking anything away from the pro bass guys, they're great fisherman, but I think a true master is someone who can catch a lot of different species, from many different types of waters, from England's chalk streams to Florida's tidal flats. JMHO. Hunter: Chuck Adams.
Rhino
Re: Best Fisherman/Hunter..... Fisherman: Bill Dance Hunter: Gene Wensel.....It's really a toss up between Gene and Barry but Gene seems to be bagging more and bigger deer and more turkeys than Barry has lately. A lot of the well know hunters spend a lot of their hunting time on guided type hunts and I can't go with someone I know does a lot of that. unioncountyslayer
Re: Best Fisherman/Hunter..... As far as fresh water fisherman, I would have to say Roland Martin. I mean, you can't argue with his resume. And for Saltwater I would have to say my granddad Arthur Smith. He can play a mean guitar and banjo, but fishing is his true passion. For best Hunter I would have to say Fred Bear.
