Well guy's if you remember I was talking before about the gun my buddy was going to sell me and I bought it. It is a synthetic stock Winchester model 70 300 win mag brand new, and I got it for $350.

I went to my local gun store and put a Leupold VX-1 4-12X40 Scope on it with Leopold rings and mounts.

Then I topped it off with a new shock absorbing buttplate.

It will be ready by the end of next week for a pickup and I will have to try this puppy out. It is my first large caliber rifle and I am looking forward to sighting it in for my upcoming elk hunt in Wyoming.

Thanks for all of your previous comments.

The 300 Win Mag is just about perfect for elk IMO. I would highly recommend you use 'premium" bullets. I suggest the 180 grain Nolser Partition. Your regular "cup & core" bullets can fail when pushed to fast & the 300 Win Mag pushes them pretty fast. CB
