Guest 257Roberts
Re: Mouth Calls I love will premos but i have never had anything for his mouth calls. I cut my teeth on preston pittman calls and continue have good luck out of them. that said each call is different. some years i get one and it is perfect. other years i buy one and can't make a decent yelp with it. I suggest buying a single reed to start with then go with a good split reed. good luck.
jgbennett6
Re: Mouth Calls Primos or homemade for me. I cant stand teh H.S. strut flex fit. awful.. i use teh double frame Primos and a few others, i usually run about 3 in my mouth at a time and switch them to sound like a flock of hens. Raspy old hen for roost talk, Double frame for cutting and raspy yelping, and quad D for those sweet yelp series.

Covehnter
Re: Mouth Calls I'm with Lumpy, i ordered several Hooks diaphrams last year before the season and they are turkey! I like the Sassy Gal II and the Mod V!
redbeard
Re: Mouth Calls Primos calls have never fit me before but I just picked up the A frame bat cut and it works. Woodhaven's are good too, red wasp. Butski's are good too. Knight and Hale, Hooks. Just try 'em, that's the best test. Don't let price fool ya, the higher priced ones aren't always the best. Hoyt03
Re: Mouth Calls I picked up a few diff calls by hs strut when i was shopping with the wifey in at walmart the other day just to see how they sounded. man i was impressed they make a good sound. Some good ones from hs strut are cutter 2.5, double, deuce cutter, that split vii one isnt bad either. I'm sure others work fine but these are the only ones Ive played around with. Primos calls work fine for me but I have a buddy who said he can never make them sound right. A decent primo call i like is the regular series call that is a triple cutter i think, its the yellow one. Go pick up a few from walmart for like 3-5$ and play around, they sound fine. magnatecsteve
Re: Mouth Calls The best ones I have tried are from M.A.D. Although I always buy a variety pack of H.S.Strut, and even Primos. I usually buy around a dozen diaphragms per season and take the ones I like from each, kinda a mixed bag....
