too_pointer
When you are using slugs in each, are they pretty close ?? I have never used 20 ga. slugs but might try them in my 20 Beretta. I wish I could find some rifled slug choke tubes for the berretta 686. Has anyone even ever tried slugs out of an o/u. ?? too_
AJ
Re: 50 cal. muzzleloader & .20 ga. shotgun Hmmm, 20 ga smoothbore has a range of about 75 yards. My .50 caliber muzzleloaders can easily double that. As for the rifled chokes for the Beretta check Brownells. Another place to check is Briley. I don't know if rifled tubes would be much benefit for slugs. Because of the barrel regulation designed for shot patterns, I don;t know how close to point of aim they will shoot a slug. You can insert an improved cylinder choke tube and try some rifled slugs to see if it would be even close. I would shoot them at moderate ranges (less than 50 yards) just to get an idea. too_pointer
Re: 50 cal. muzzleloader & .20 ga. shotgun Thanks, what I thought I had read was that the 50 cal and 20 ga. slug performed similiar on deer, not the range one could shoot with it. I'm just thinking if both my sons want to go out deer hunting, I will need the 20 for myself, so I think I will fire some slugs through it and will use the improved cyl. like you suggest.
