Hillbilly
Re: Here we go again I think Randel El could have been the MVP. After that hard hit he took in the back and then come back to throw that bomb. Amazing!!!
Bownarow
Re: Here we go again Who are we joking. This game was terrible. The teams played terrible, the officials were terrible, the half time show was terrible, and the commercials weren't all that great either. Every sports caster I have heard talk about the game has had these same opinions. Even Steve Young and Micheal Irvin called out the officials in the half time report. I think Hines Ward deserved the MVP, but only by default. It only took a mediocre performance to take this award home. 5 catches for 120 something yards and 1 TD. Far from impressive if you ask me. Worst Super Bowl of all time? Definately gets my vote.

snapper
Re: Here we go again Ok....the offensive pass interference call was about as lame as Hassleback's fumble and they said he was touched. Yep, both plays were called the way they should have...but they were both lame! The push off isn't legal, but hardly interference. The fumble...the touch really had nothing to do with him going down (he was falling before the touch) but it was the right call. As far as Ben crossing the goal line...ok, take the touch down away...score still 14-10 Steelers! Seahawks didn't manage the clock well at the end of the half and end of the game. They gave up on both ocations! Plus they missed two field goals...thats their fault, not the refs. Anyway you slice it...Steelers got the W and the Seahawks got the L. Game over...move on!!!!!!!!!!! JJL
Re: Here we go again I believe that that game gave every team in the NFL hope for next year. Anyone can win, at least that's what the commissioner is striving for. Bad play on both sides............ Bad coaching on both sides.......... Bad officiating on both sides........... Bad coverage by ABC.............(Madden is a Fool) Bad National Anthem.............. Bad halftime show....( go home you bunch of old-farts) I cannot believe that I wasted five hours watching it............ Probably do it again next year............GO BEARS. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Here we go again overall i didn't find the game to exciting...but i really didn't see to many cals to complain about...hasslebacks penaltie after the INT was a bad call....but the offensive pass interference i though was a good call...he clearly pushed off of the DB...and as for bens td...all the ball has to do is touch the goalline...and as far as i could see...It did...still reviewable yeah...but there really wasn't any video evidence that could overturn it...i think the seahawks just beat themselves...congrats the pittsburgh..they deserve it
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Here we go again Man, some of you guys absolutely amaze me. So many arm chair referees that sit around thinking they know what a penalty is and isn't. Get a clue fellas. You wanna talk bad calls? How about the late hit on Ward out of bounds? How about the block in the black on Ben during that int return? How about Winstrom lining up in the neutral zone about 5 times and not getting called?? How about all the holding on Seattle that WASN'T called??? How about the 2 Seattle receivers that clearly caught the ball and made football moves then fumbled, only to have the refs blow it dead????? Every call on Seattle with the exception of that low block on Hasselbeck was legit, but who cares, he had already sealed the game with that pick on the play anyway Go read the rule book and learn what the definitions of each penalty are, then come back and talk since you should have a clue as to what you are talking about then. VtBowhunter
Re: Here we go again That article os so biased that it makes me sick. Since when does it matter which team gains the most yards, controls the clock longer, or has the most turn overs? Look at the Redskins in the first round of the playoffs......120 yards of total offence and they won. The only thing that matters is that the team makes the most of the few chances they get to score......Pittsburgh clearly did that. One other thing. Have any of you heard the Seahawks whining......NO, in fact they have all admitted they were outplayed all the way around.......GET OVER IT. I am not sitting here agreeing with something and jumping on a bandwagon because an "expert" said it. Call me an arm chair ref all you want., I know the game, not just what an expert says. Fact of the matter is this, Steelers blatently beat the Colts and the the refs and Indy. Didn't mope or put during the game, just went out and played their hearts out to make sure NO ONE could take the game from them. Seattle on the other hand simply isn;t that good. The "best" team in the NFC couldn't beat the Steelers on their WORST day, and that showed Sunday, so now they are leaning on the refs as an excuse as opposed to accepting the hard truth, they didn't play that good, and they simply aren't that good. Bownarow
Re: Here we go again Seems to me like all the Steeler's fan's are getting awful bent out of shape over other people voicing their opinions. The only FACT, is that this SB was a poor one. Nothing against "your team" that won. At least try and be honest enough with yourself to admit that. My congrats to the Steelers, but geez! All I wanted out of this game was to see a GOOD game. Needless to say I was dissapointed.

Honestly I'm happy to see that but the game was poorly called by the refs! Eric [/ QUOTE ] I am getting sick of all this "they wanted a story book ending for Jerome" nonsense . If they wanted a storybook ending, then why did the refs BLATENTLY try to steal the game from the Steelers in Indy.
colts1888
Re: Here we go again If the refs tried to steal the game from the Steelers in Indy, then they could have done a better job of evening out penalties. Colts were flagged 7 more times then Pitt, including one that took away a TD. Did they may make a bad call on the pick? Yep they did. But unlike the superbowl, that call alone didnt add or erase any points, it simply gave possession back, and like i said, the refs could have done a better job of pentalizing Pitt if indeed then wanted Indy in the superbowl. PAbowhunter4life
Re: Here we go again LMAO........... oh man, that call against Troy was just the one thet confirmed the refs were pulling for the Colts. Out of curiosity though, didn't the Colts score a TD or get a field goal off of that drive??? Remember earlier in the game when Doss MUGGED Randle El before the ball got there and there was no call. I believe that happened on the Indy 15 yard line or so, that was a sure 3 points taken away from us. Yet magically a couple of plays later McFadden looked in Reggie Wayne's direction and got a pass interference call, hmmmmmm. Or how about the one where the Colts came across the line, touched every Steeler on the O-Line, then they had the do over because Indy never made contact. You had more calls because of the holding and false starts since the O-Line couldn't block anyone. As far as meaningful and possible game changing penalties go, well, I don't need to explain who was getting the shaft. I don't even know why I am bothering arguing with you though. The Colts had home field advantage, a "good" defense, were considered one of the best teams in NFL history, had the playoff experience, and so on and so forth, yet they still blew it, even with the refs on their team; so of course you're going to have some negative comments towards the Steelers. [/ QUOTE ] I didnt realize i was making any negative comments about the Steelers. As for the Colts, im over that and looking forward to next year. Colts are the 2nd youngest team in the league dont forget, they will only get better. All im doing is responding to your claim that the refs did everything possible to help Indy win, simply not true. You say the refs tried to steal the game from the Steelers. If that were the case then they would have flagged Mcfadden late in the 4th quarter on the pass to Wayne, which would have set Indy up 1st and goal with about 40 seconds left. Instead it was a no call. Im not saying it was pass intereference, im just saying it was close enough that if a ref wanted Indy to win, all he had to do was throw a flag. There was a PI call in the NE/DENVER game which wasnt as close as the play on Wayne. When the Colts came across the line, Faneca moved first. If you have the game taped, put it in and watch. Replay showed it, announcers admitted it, should have been a false start. By the way, that no call allowed Pitt to barely convert on a 4th a 1/2 instead of a 4th and 6 and eat up several minutes of clock. If the right call is made, Pitt probably punts. The INT overturn was a bad call but if it really were some conspiracy theory, the refs would have seen to it that Indy won the game. That means they would have not been flagged for about 60 more yards, they would have missed Glenns false start and allowed the TD, and most certainly they would have called PI on that play to Wayne. All they have to do is throw a flag right there and Indy wins. Sorry i just dont buy the conspiracy theory.
