Re: new decoy attacked by hawk today

Sounds like an interesting experience. Hope the pictures turn out. I've had a few encounters with the raptor bird family.

One was after repairing a broken wing on a purple finch over the winter and spring hit. I went to release the bird back into the wild. Soon as the bird flew out my hands a big red-tailed hawk swooped down out the pine tree that I didn't see and plucked him right out the air. My dog leaped in the air and started barking at the hawk and he let my bird go and flew away. It took another couple months to repair the damage to the bird again before I released him in a different area back into the wild.

Another was once an Osprey swooped down while I was trout fishing and steal the fish I was trying to tempt with my lure right out the water. Was fun to watch, but then I was like "Wait that was the fish I was after!" Needless to say I had to go find another fish to tempt with my lure.
