silentgate
I wanted to put out something for turkeys. I heard Chufa was the way to go. Any ideas?
dogdoc
Re: Turkey plot i've never planted chufa but I've heard it is a turkey magnet. You plant it one year for the next--it takes a year to mature and provide enough tubors for the birds. I always include some seed producing plants such as millet and milo for the turkeys. However---I've come to believe that nothing attracts turkeys like clover. Not only do the feed on the actual clover plants but all the insects that the clover attracts. good luck todd
rockefeller66
Re: Turkey plot clover and alfalfa really atract turkeys, I know they eat the plants but mostly the bugs that get them running to it!!!!
wtnhunt
Re: Turkey plot The trukeys hit the clover pretty hard here in the summer and fall, but dont see them in it too much in the spring. Have heard that turkeys will wear out lespedeza too.
