iron buck
I read this morning on another forum that Remington Arms is in serious financial trouble. That they are in arrears to the local power company & have had power shut off, causing them to purchase Generators to keep things running. With the recent demise of Winchester...........Remington folding would be a HUGE set back in my eyes for the shooting community. Does anyone know more about this? Does it look like the "antis"will get there way after all? Not being able to get rid of the 2nd ammendment, but make the production of firearms cost prohibative to the point that arms companiues that have been in business for over 100 years are folding like decks of cards? Ithaca is gone. Winchester production is done...........and now rumors regarding Remington. These are truly sad times
slugshooter
Re: Remington Arms now in trouble? I couldn't find anything on any news sites about this. It's probably just a rumor, besides, which Remington plant is this supposedly taking place at. They don't make everything in one place. They have a manufacturing plant here in NC where they build the 870 if I am not mistaken and I have driven past the ammo plant in Arkansas numerous times. I wouldn't completely count Winchester out. Basically what they are looking for is someone to buy the name since it wasn't really Winchester manufacturing all these years anyway. US Repeating Arms owned the rights to the Winchester name. iron buck
Re: Remington Arms now in trouble? Here is the link where I read this. It is a forum ........like this one, so it is far from being official. The scary part of it, to me anyway, is that before the Winchester demise became official it was being posted about , just as in this case. I really hope it turns out to be nothing. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Remington Arms now in trouble? I remember reading something about this a couple of months ago. It was a problem with the local power company not wanting to supply them with steam. I think it was more an issue of the power company wanting to get out of the steam generation business than an issue with Remington's financial status. too_pointer
Re: Remington Arms now in trouble? I don't believe Remington is going nowhere except up. If things and production models change at Win. Rem might profit from it also as the other gun manufactures. too_
AJ
Re: Remington Arms now in trouble? Nope, I don't see it as being Remington's demise. Texan_Till_I_Die has it right. I remember the talk about a provider and steam. They are still doing fine. But maybe since they are marketing Russian guns now, they could be on the way out...... Nope, just speculation.
