AJ
Re: Bullet Coefficient??? The Ballistic Coefficient is the bullets ability to overcome air resistance. A sleek aerodynamic shape will have a higher BC than a big hollow point. The BC of a given bullet will change with changing weather conditions. Air pressure, humidity, wind, etc will all alter the BC of the bullet. There are three ways to figure out the BC of a bullet: 1. Shape - The bullets ogive, length, diameter, and base will all determine the BC. 2. Velocity - For this you need a pair of chronographs. You need to take a reading close and another reading of the same shot down range. Plug these numbers in to the program and it will figure the BC. 3. Bullet drop - You have to know the velocity (exact, not what the book or web site says) and zero the gun at distance A. Now shoot the gun at distance B using the same point of aim and measure how low the point of impact is. Plug this info in the program and it will give you the BC. rockefeller66
Re: Bullet Coefficient??? wow that is confusing and a lot of work, I think I'll just get a load that shoots good through the gun and when I put it in the lungs I don't think it is going to matter too much!!!
