I want to try something new any suggestions I am still shooting alluminum arrows I am not big on expandables but any suggestions would be great thanks. Think of this, with all the broadheads on the market, would you want one aimed at you?!! I wouldn't think so as each is capable of a kill. It just takes proper shot placement to make an ethical kill. Practice more with broadheads and tune you bow while your shooting them so your Thunderhead will make a clean kill and a short tracking job! Guest bowtech11 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 Re: help looking for new broadheads i dont think switching broadheads is going to help you not wound any deer. those are good heads you use. its easy to blame the equipment when we wound a deer but is it really? or is it the shooters fault? i have hunted for 7 years and i have shot 16 deer with my bow and never lost one the farthest track i had was 100yrd but i shoot year round also so i am very confident in my shooting, and for more then half of them i used expandables! im not judging you im just trying to help you so you dont wound anymore deer! how much do you shoot, is everything tuned on your bow, are you broadheads flying perfect. where is your shot placement, are you getting pass throughs. those are questions i would ask myself. these are the same questions i ask my friends when they wound deer. good luck Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've used Thunderheads for years, and I think they are a good head. Now this past year I used a Muzzy 100gr 3 blade thanks to Ohiobucks going to the 95gr 4 blade. The deer I shot this year was killed with the Muzzy. I have found the Muzzy to be more durable. One drawback to the Muzzy is its smaller cutting diameter compared to the Thunderhead. I've been using Thunderheads since day one. They fly like darts with a well tuned bow. I would definitely look at your bow first. Make sure you have the right draw eight/arrow combination also.
