elnor Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 My local Bass Pro has the Springfield Armory XD Package (4in pistol, three clips, belt slide holster, lock) in 9mm or .40S&W on sale for $449.88 ($50 off their normal price). This seems like a good price based upon what I've read in these forums and on GunBroker.com(?). How does that compare to new XD prices others are seeing? Also, any thoughts on the XD itself? Guest Xen Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 Re: New SA XD package for $450 a good price? well, the thing is, dealers right now are getting a heck of a deal on springfields. they buy 10 guns at a 20% off normal dealer price and get an 11th gun free. that xd package is probably running the dealer close to $369, but that is only with 2 mags, not 3(an extra mag costs between 10 and 15), double mag holster and mag loader, case, and lock. now, yeah, everybody has to make money on a sale, especially if they are a business, overhead, etc. but, i'd still probably try to deal with the guy. if he paid more than $369 for dealer cost, i'd be very suprised. plus, he got a .45 for free, so really, that gun cost him closer to $330. that being said, not all dealers took advantage of that deal, but, i'd be extremely suprised if you couldn't talk him down $20 or get a free box of self defense ammo, etc Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well, as I posted in the other thread I have the XD 9 and have had it for almost 3 years now. I have been thinking of getting a new .45 GAP model, thats until I just went on their website and saw the new .45 ACP model that comes with belt holster, magazine loader, and magazine holder as well as two 13 round clips. Well, I drove past the gun store today, they had it on the marquee out front "XD .45 ACP $479.00" So that basically answers my question. I am gonna check another store though because I have heard their prices are cheaper. Plus, the store I frequent the most, the one I drove by today, might possibly be losing their FFL in the near future, something about 179 guns reported either stolen or lost in the last 3 years, that and reports of not doing background checks or receiving handgun permits from some buyers. It'd be a shame too, that particular store has one of the biggest selections in the area, they're the only store in the surrounding area I know of that carries the .50 BMG....if you got the cash. The only bad thing about the gear package is that you cannot purchase a package deal with a left handed holster...That ruins the deal for me.
