toddyboman
kinda clueless here guys. Do you use a spotlight? If you do use a spotlight how do you know when to shine it? and when you do doesnt it scare the yote/fox or whatever away. just curious. I have never tried the hunting at night. I am pretty sure it is illegal in missouri anyways. THanks for any info to feed my curiosity.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Question about Hunting at Night Legal here. I usually get in the back of a truck or on the shooting rack of my jeep, somewhere high. I start calling and usually turn on the spotlight after about 30 seconds and make a quick sweep 360* around me. You don't have to spend much time with the light on, the eyes show up real well. I always use a red lense and keep the light slighty levated so that the main beam isn't hitting them directly. I repeat sweeping around me every 30 - 45 seconds or so. Typically takes about 10 seconds to sweep the full circle. When I spot eyes, I lift the beam even higher and only dip it quickly to verify the varmint's position. When its time to shoot, I drop the beam and hit them full in the face with it. They'll usually lock up for 2 - 4 seconds giving the shooter time to get on them.
