Bummed...

I was looking forward to hunting turkey with my smoothbore flintlock this year but I can't. Last year in the regulations for legal turkey equipment, it never specified bore size/ gauge for muzzleloaders..just had to be loaded with correct shot. I called the local DNR officials, who double checked down state, and said last year that I could use my gun. But, I shot my bird before I had a chance to work up a good load. The thing is, it is a 28 gauge...BUT, loaded with 85 grains of FFF, and equal volume of #6 loaded in a paper cartridge, it shot a GREAT pattern out to just over 30 yards. But, this year they added gauge specifications for ML shotguns. Darn it...looks like I need another gun!! Might try to bulid one on my own!! grin.gif
