Swamphunter
I have a set of antlers that are bleached completely bone white. I've read on here before about people using a certain type of stain to get them back to a rich brown color. What do I need to do? Thanks
huntinsonovagun
Re: Bleached Antlers I've used wood stain, but there is an "antler stain" you can get from Wasco, Van Dykes, or McKinsey (sp?). Not hard to do... Also heard shoe polish will work....
rockefeller66
Re: Bleached Antlers you get antler stain from any taxidermist supply company like Van Dykes or others, I have heard wood stain works well but I would try antler stain
RTF
Re: Bleached Antlers Antler stain , wood stain all the same. Dont believe the hype !. Just like animal powder preserved sold by taxidermy supply houses is just plain ole powdered borax which can be bought at any store. Let me tell you something folks. Alot of chemicals, sealers preserves etc.. are just relabled items bought from the hardware store.
