Covehnter
I'm sure there are others on here that will be of more assistance than i but what i recommend is walking backwards away from the pup and putting a little enthusiasm in your voice as he's bringing the dummy to heel, this will increase his excitement and keep it fun, it also shows him that the bird is to be brought to hand. Also, be sure not to over do it with too many retrieves, often pups will try to amusing themselves with the dummy if you do the same thing to many times in a row. About 5-6 strict retrieves is enough for a pup that age. . . then work obedience and have a little fun, thats the main concern, make sure its fun! huntn4bucks
Re: dog training Cove is exactly right. Make it fun. If the pup is dropping the bumper 5 steps from you, at 6-7 steps away start calling him and encouraging him to come to you. As you encourage him, start moving backwards away from him. He'll forget all about dropping the bumper and will start chasing after you. Once he gets close to you, stop and bring him to heel. Best of luck and let us know how it works.
