New gun list for summer !!

Well I have finally decided that it is time for a new shotgun. I already have a semi auto 12ga. but I am in need of a new. (Haveing to carry my 20 ga. everytime I went out duck hunitng in case my 12 ga. failed, finally made up my mind.). I am thinking about a new beretta 3901. I want to stay with semi auto 12 ga. and I have no need for a 3 1/2" shell. I think it will be a good gun for the money.

I am also wanting a new rifle, but it may have to wait till closer to november. I currently have a .22mag and a 30-06 and am looking for something mid range. I want something light enough that my girlfriend can handle it comfortably but I don't want it so light that it has no power. I like to target shoot, nothing fancy like .5" groups at 100 yd, just clay pidgeons at 200-300 yards and I think this caliber will suit my needs just right.

As for the gun I am looking a a Howa .243 1500 sporter with a thumbhole stock

Re: New gun list for summer !!

The Howa is a very solid and decent gun for the price. Its the same gun as the Weatherby Vanguard, just with different wood and metal stamping. The trigger is decent and is adjustable. Like other bolt guns, it needs a good bedding job for best results. Achieving MOA group accuracy with this gun is fairly easy as long as it does not have major flaws. I have a 1500 in 22-250 and I have owned a 300 Wby Mag Vanguard. Both are decent shooters.
