He disregarded all that and I assume he intended to just capitalize on someone else's scouting efforts and purposely horn in on somebody else's action. I say he got what he deserved. Even though you didn't say, I assume that these were not trespassers and probably this was public land. Of course, they had a legal right to hunt there if they wanted to. However, there is the ethical question of purposely using a spot that clearly someone else was intending to use. This is something I would never even consider doing.
