muggs
what are your feelings on this tournament. I think baseball had good intentions while creating it, but I think they fell short to say the least. Baseball needs a change IMO. The NBA and NFL have run away from MLB in the past 10 years. I think this tournament could be good if done correctly...but I don't think that will happen. I don't like American-born players playing for their "country of origin". And with the pitch counts taking guys out of key situation, it will nothing more than an exhibition game. Could you imagine if A-Rod gets injured and misses the '06 season. What do you think Steinbrenner would have to say about that? I think it's gonna be a huge waste of time.
buckbuster11
Re: WBC I do too. It could borderline on being similar to watching the Pro Bowl. What they need to do is either take a couple week break during the middle of the season to do this, or do it a week or two after the World Series. That way guys are actually in shape and can really go after it. All we are going to see now is a bunch of rusty ball players, playing below average to their capabilities, and not playing anywhere close to 100% because they dont want to get hurt. Master_Chief
Re: WBC I don't plan on wathcing it at all. It is a pre-season to the pre-season. What really chaps me is this, these are Italy's pitchers. All born in the USA. As a matter of fact there are no Italians on the Italian team that I can find. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: WBC quick question...did anbone care when dominique wilkins or Hakeem Olajuwon played for team USA basketball? they weren't born in the United States....i don't think it really matters....there are foreign players who have duel citizenship and are playing for the untied states
