Re: Cleaning Cleaning Equipment

The bore snakes can be washed with soap and water and hang them to dry. Bore mops get tossed after a few uses. They are cheap enough. I do the same with brushes. Every few cleaning sessions when I notice it taking longer to get the bore clean, I toss the brush and use a new one or keep it to make a tight fitting patch for use with JB.

Re: Cleaning Cleaning Equipment

i kind of like using an over-sized swab in the chamber area, and a brass brush if i have a dirty gun, usually just step up a gauge for that area, 10 for 12, 12 for 20, etc. most of the time, you can get away with just letting the solvent soak for a minute or two and not have to get too aggressive with brushing.

Re: Cleaning Cleaning Equipment

I clean my mops in soap and water then put them in my drill press for a few minutes. This spins the water out and gives them shape again so they don't mat down. Any drill works, I just like the drill press because I can turn it on and walk away. Just hold a towel up for the first few seconds or you are going to get damp. LOL
