Re: wyoming antelope trip

Greenhead----I use 150 grain bullets out of my 30/06. I site in 3" high @100 yards. I'm good to go out to 300 yards. Your 4x scope is fine--I see no reason to change it.

I think you have until 3/31 to apply for a NR tag in WY. I always thought the best unit was around Baggs but I could never draw a tag for it. Lots of goats in WY--heard that around Gillette has alot of them & plenty of public land to hunt. Casper is another good choice.

Good Luck--antelope is a ton of fun. CB

Forgot to add processing would be about the same as a deer. I would budget $50 -$100 as a ballpark figure.

To be honest---I would think that just about every unit would have close to a 100% rate.

just a thought but PM stevebelgard at this site. he's from WY & would have a ton of info. Pretty nice guy I sure he would point you in the right dierction. CB

Re: wyoming antelope trip

The deadline is March 15. Any round out of any rifle will work as long as you can shoot out to about 300 yard with it. The 4x scope is fine. My dad has one on his savage model 99 308 and has hunted the South Dakota Wyoming border for years taking many muleys and goats with it. Dood luck on your hunt
