Guest Colorado Bob
I was driving over by Cortez, Colorado this afternoon. Across from my buddy's place there are some big cottonwood trees. There are 2 bald eagles there that are rebuilding their nest from a couple years ago. I watched as the male would bring in sticks & place them on the nest. The female would be in the nest re-arranging the branches are he bought them to her. It's only Feburary but they know more than me about when it's time to nest. I guess a couple years ago they raised 1 eaglet there. My buddy has his spotting scope set up & watched as they bought in fish, prairie dogs, pheasants, etc & would peel the meat off & feed it to the young. Should be an interesting summer. bfletch7441
Re: Pretty Cool Site That would be really cool to watch! Could you get any pictures? A guy I work with lives on Grand Lake here in Oklahoma and the Eagles winter around that area. A few weeks ago he told me he watched a bald eagle dive bomb a duck in the cove where he lives. The eagle caught it, held it under water to drown it, then drug it onto shore and started eating it. Mother nature is an amazing woman!
