live trap for coyotes?

Re: live trap for coyotes?

I've heard the same thing but you would think a coyote would go after a live chicken?

Most of the tracts of farm and ranch land around here is being sold with houses being built and there are more coyotes now than 20 years ago.Last winter two coyotes tried to drag the neighbors dog off of her porch but they couldn't get the dog through the porch railing before she came out and scared them off.

Yep, theyre getting brave here too. I live 1/2 mile West of Locust Grove and I have Yotes in my field all the time. Its nothing to see them running around during the day.... Theyre way to thick.

Im thinking about going out south of Rose this weekend and try out my new .243 varmit gun!

A a buddy of mine is trying to get us into trapping live yotes. A guy he knows has been getting $75 for a live female and $100 for a male. I know an old man in Locust that use to have a bait shop, he traps them live all the time but he uses a snare. There's pretty good money in it!

Yep, thats what they do. Leon use to own a bait shop on the west side of Locust. I think he use to be a warden to. Anyway, he and another guy trapps like crazy. Im not sure if he actually buys them unless he plans to re-sale them.

I bet I could find out who is actually buying them There are several people who buy them for the fenced dog hunts. I bet Monte Reid knows. He is one of the local Warden (he lives in Locust).

Im guessing who ever buys them has to live close by. Leon is getting old and I couldnt picture him driving to Tulsa to sale yotes.
