An update on our trauma patients

I know everyone's been waiting to hear how our "post election selection trauma" patients are coming, here's one update.

A forty-year-old alleged grown woman says that she was so upset when Bush won that "I was very devastated and very astonished that people would re-elect this president. I was moody about the war and economic issues. I felt very unsettled and fearful. I thought, 'Oh no, what will happen for four years?'" She also says she was having trouble sleeping. They're calling it "Post Election Selection Trauma," or PEST for short. Poor baby. What a pathetic life it must be to stake your own personal happiness against who wins an election.

Her doctor says it was mentally unhealthy for her to expect a Kerry win. Thankfully for the rest of us, he was right.

Oh and watch our Rush – the shrinks are having a fit!

Mental health officials in South Florida blasted Rush Limbaugh on Monday, saying the conservative talk show host’s offer of “free therapy” for traumatized John Kerry voters has made a mockery of a valid psychological problem. “Rush Limbaugh has a way of back-handedly slamming people,” said Sheila Cooperman, a licensed clinician with the American Health Association (AHA) who listened Friday as Limbaugh offered to personally treat her patients. “He’s trying to ridicule the emotional state this presidential election produced in many of us here in Palm Beach County. Who is he to offer therapy?”

No folks – the psychologists have made a mockery of the mentally ill in this case!!!

Re: An update on our trauma patients

I think Kerry should hold one more rally, heck, he spent enough on his campaign, he certainly can afford one more. Fly any heart broken democrat in... free of charge. Once the rally's in full swing.... well, lets just say I believe in the aireal spraying of prozac.... large doses of prozac... that'll shut em up. (lol).

You mean to tell me a therapist would exploit a patient to fatten his/her wallet????

Yeah - a trial lawyer would do the same thing.

Here's a note and mark this date on your calender. Some low-life lawyer (maybe John Edwards) will come up with some lawsuit or class action suit against the government for this.

You know you are right. Funny and really at the same time very sad.

Re: An update on our trauma patients

This whole situation reminds me of every time the Packers lose in the playoffs.

All the local news stations and the paper ALWAYS run some story about post-Packers-defeat trauma...LOL.

The Kerry thing is pathetic. Yes, I can understand someone feeling down after an election (like during Clinton's whole presidency...lol), but to "need" counseling is idiotic.

I don't think it's AS bad as Packer fans needing "help," but it's pretty darn close...lol
