slugshooter
Re: Rifled choke vs. rifled barrel? I don't really know enough about rifled chokes to help you out. I do believe that rifled chokes are only for rifled slugs to help accuracy out a little bit. A fully rifled barrel with a sabot slug would I believe increase distance and accuracy in the long run. AJ
Re: Rifled choke vs. rifled barrel? The rifled choke tubes will impart enough spin to a saboted slug to stabilize them, but the best accuracy comes from a fully rifled barrel. The difference in accuracy will vary from barrel to barrel. I would expect the group size to be cut in half by the use of a fully rifled barrel, but there are exceptions.
LETMGROW
Re: Rifled choke vs. rifled barrel? I have a rifled choke for the Rem. choke barrel and it shoots really well. My only complaint was the barrel was long and I hunt in some brushy areas. Thus I went for a fully rifled factory barrel. Believe it or not one doesn't shoot much better than the other. The real advantage is my rifled barrel is cantilevered so I can scope it and leave it scoped.

Tominator
Re: Rifled choke vs. rifled barrel? I think you'll be much happier with the Ultra gun, especially for the money. My slug barrel is very accurate, I think I've told you, but I don't see anyway a choke tube can beat the performance of a fully rifled barrel.
