SuperMn106
on the countdown to green they reported that nascar is thinking about suspending him for the first 4 races of the season. what do ya'll think? i think this might be a good thing to do. he deserves it with his past. sounds like they want to send a message right away mike
Master_Chief
Re: Report on Knaus........ I think it si a good idea. They have to keep it fair across the board though. I am a Jr. fan but I hope if they get caught they get the same punishment. I don't want to see preferential treatment. That is even worse. In my opinion. Randyman
Re: Report on Knaus........ As i recall, that is what Todd Berrier got for "unapproved" fuel tank alterations on the 29 car last year. Sounds about right.
RTF
Re: Report on Knaus........ I dont think they really need him after winning the 500. I have a feeling he may not return.
Bowhntr
Re: Report on Knaus........ Well in my opinion the 48 should not be the 500 winner because HE SHOULD NOT HAVE RAN. The car should have been parked. That would get the message across.
VABuckSlayer
Re: Report on Knaus........ He should of had to go to a back up car and impound his primary for unapproved parts IMO. He shouldn't be able to win the 500 with a car he got caught cheating with earlier in the week! Eric
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Report on Knaus........ [ QUOTE ] Well in my opinion the 48 should not be the 500 winner because HE SHOULD NOT HAVE RAN. The car should have been parked. That would get the message across. [/ QUOTE ] I agree 100% and even before the race I speculated if Johnson won how the "cheating" incident would tarnish the win. You have to think that garage was filled with 48 haters thinking they still cheated. Innovator my butt, that whole team is cheater and more than Knaus knew about it. You do not make a change to a car without telling the driver, you can't do that, the speeds are too fast so IMHO NASCAR needed to throw that whole bunch out and told them to go back to North Carolina and think about their actions!! MUDRUNNER
Re: Report on Knaus........ I think it would take quite a bit for NASCAR to suspend the whole team from competing. Not only would the teams and sponsors loose money, but a greedy NASCAR would miss out on a few bucks too. That's why I think we will never see it happen. I do imagine the officials will keep a very close eye on the 48 and if Knauss makes another infraction I believe his punishment will be a whole lot worse than 4 races. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Report on Knaus........ Lowe's and Hendricks do not need cheating on their resume. Look what Home Depot did to Tony a few years back, they fined him for his antics with the media. You can be a winning driver and crew chief and still be let go. Sponsors don't like that and when a guy has to stand in victory lane and dedicate the win "to all the 48 haters", something is wrong. You know your not well liked and if that don't wake you up go down to Lowe's, buy a 2 x4 and smack yourself upside the head, consider it a wake up call!! I could see middle fingers being raised when he was doing his victory drive, the team needs to straighten its image, one way is for the cheating to stop and possibly keeping Knaus away for awhile to rebuild their image some. Get caught cheating again then its all over, Hendrick has to make the call and do something drastic, but would he?

RTF
Re: Report on Knaus........ If they want to improve their image, they need to start by firing Knaus. Bringing him back will put a black cloud on that team for the rest of the year.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Report on Knaus........ maybe he hates Jeff because he is usually a frontrunner, has won 4 championships, and has numerous wins and prestigous multiple wins at Daytona & the Brickyard, the only think I hate about Jeff is I don't have the #24 ride!! Guy can flat out drive a car, I have seen him in person and for as small as he is he can sure wheel a car. One of the greats in our lifetime to see compete. And I agree Hate is a pretty harsh word for someone who just gets it done!
