Bow or Gun?

Re: Bow or Gun?

For the last few years I've been trying to make myself pull out the bow after the 1st gobbler. I haven't done it yet. Last year I didn't hardly carry any weapons after the first week. I was helping some other guys and youngsters do a double team on the birds with them doing the shooting. I already have an 8 year old boy lined up to take this year, so I doubt I'll take my bow turkey hunting.

Re: Bow or Gun?

The last two years i have tried to take a bird with a bow and i also pulled the muzzleloader once, so far i am 0 for 3. I messed up twice w/ a bow and flat out missed a monster w/ the muzzleloader. Seems like i cant get them to fall to anything other than the Remington. If all goes well and i take a bird or two early in the season i'll probably try it again.

Re: Bow or Gun?

The plan is to take the first bird with my bow (first time trying), take the second with a 28 gauge shotgun (call him in close) and if the plan fails and time is running out - get out the Remington 12 gauge (which will be locked in the trunk with my hunting buddy having the key so I don't break down after having bird after bird stop just outside of bow/28 gauge range:D )
