huntinsonovagun
Any guys seen this? I watched a full episode tonight...kinda interesting. More like what I thought the reality series "survivor" was going to be like before it aired. The guy is kinda dumb though. Takes him all day to build a temporary shelter. Are you kiddin' me?! He also built a raft so he wouldn't have to swim out...HA! Didn't he ever try that when he was a kid?? I could have told him it wouldn't work! He ended up spending 2 days building rafts and then still getting wet. Could have just swam and saved the time! It's nice to have an empty can with you when you get lost to collect water in...and a broken cigarette lighter. Sorry, I'm brutal, I know. I wouldn't mind getting paid to survive for a week in the wild.....
Guest fourtrax_300
Re: Survivorman the show is pretty cool, the stuff he has is suppsot to be from a air palne clash or a shi wreck or something. therefore you would also have a few things just like him. and try packing all the cameras and equiptment around by yourself ! some of the stuff he does is cool ! like he eats the roots of lilly pads ! Guest Clay008
Re: Survivorman I watched a little of the beginning last night. He started a fire with a tissue, sock lint, and a broken cigarette lighter. I went to bed after that so I missed the raft part.

Guest Andrea
Re: Survivorman Deja-vu!!!! I posted this same thing last week. It's a pretty neat show, but I was disappointed with the "Lost At Sea" episode. How many people are gonna run into an island after being adrift for days??? Hardly any. But I can't wait to see the episode of him being lost in the swamp. Really wanna see how he deals with all those mosquitos.
AaronS
Re: Survivorman Haven't heard of it, but it sounds better than "Survivor". The only reason I watch that show is to see how much better I would be at it, lol.
Guest Andrea
Re: Survivorman Okay..........I finally saw the episode where he gets "lost" in the swamps down in southern Georgia. Had a MAJOR problem with one of his survival methods. I KNEW this was gonna happen. To help keep the mosquitos off...he spread mud all over his face. I know for a FACT that this does not work. I tried this when we went camping a long time ago and we had no bug spray. The mud actually acted like an ATTRACTANT. Anyone else done that??? horst
Re: Survivorman I seen that one and one where he was out in the desert.Theres actually some pretty good tricks in there, his home made fish trap got him a turtle to eat and eating the rattlesnake was something a lotta people probably wouldnt have thought of. The episode in the desert was better though, the sheer amount of edible plants and stuff he found out there was amazing. As far as having a broken lighter and stuff handy its not to far of a stretch,I quit smoking 6 months ago or better and still have lighters inn most of my coats alongside snotty tissues from my kids And it was after all just a tip on how a fire could be started, he shows different ways in diferent episodes Im sure. Guest Andrea
Re: Survivorman Yeah, I learned a few tricks for sure. And I really like the show. But the thing about mosquitos is not an effective technique. I would DEFINITELY have to pack along some bug spray and keep it on me at all times if I were in the swamp. I have to practically BATHE in Deep Woods Off everytime I go fishing. Skeeters just love me for some reason.

Personaly I eat a lot of Garlic and am hardly ever bitten...they still drive me nuts buzzing arround though. Sounds like a great show actualy....to bad I don't have cable or satelite anymore... VtBowhunter
Re: Survivorman Actually, mud DOES keep mosquitos off you. It's a thing that is taught in the military. They showed us that when we were in Panama. Mosquitos are attracted to body heat, and mud masks body heat to their "Radar".

I coated my legs with mud and was tormented by those @#$%^*!!@# things all night. Afterwards I counted over 100 bites on my legs. Any special kind of mud??? And maybe you gotta put it on about 3 inches thick????
