fisherguy
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? I had a few like that and soaked them in water for a few days until it was soft enough to take off with a knife.
Master_Chief
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? I have boiled them and that seems to speed up the process.
Turkeygirl
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? I'll just take a chisel and a hammer and hack away. Takes an hour or two but I can usually peel off the old hide. It's a pain though!
Guest hunter101
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? all i do is leave it sit in water for and while and every time you think of it just go and start skinning it back a little at a time. that way the water gets in hair and it loosens it up easier in the long run. Valkrie1357
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? Use a pair of Pliers to pull the Hide off. don't try using the fleshing method. even if it is dry the hide tears easier sometimes. An hour or two usually you'll have it off. toddyboman
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? GOOD LUCK...I have always soaked it and or boiled it. Use dawn soap and salt in the water. Helps break up the remains (hair, and what not).

TOMSD5
Re: How do I get the hide off an old skull ? to me boiling is easier....bring water to a fast boil then turn down to a simmer for about an hour the hide will loosin up and look like jelly...scrape it off then rinse it off....do not let the rack get into the water tho...
