ny_gun
After several years of turkey hunting I have decided to learn how to use a diaphragm call. Does anyone know where I can find good instructions for using one?
jgbennett6
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call well everyone has their own style, usually primos,or quaker bro's...come with simple instrustions on how to place, size and make noises saying shuck, r cluck, or puck... the best thing is to figure out how to make noise with it, then spend a lot of time learning how to manipulate the sound to be how you like it
Exturkinator
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call I'd recommend a video from HS Strut - I think its called Mouth Calling 101. Best instruction I ever got...

Hoyt03
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call I think primos, quaker boy and hs strut all have an instructional cd that comes with a few calls each. I saw one at walmart by hs strut the other day that came with the cd and 3 calls for like 10$ I'd try one of these to get started and also get a dvd to be able to watch as well. snapper
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call Also, check out the NWTF site and pick yourself up a cd of turkey sounds. You'll learn how to call from the other cd's...but listening to the turkey sounds...you'll get a better idea of when and how to use the sounds you make with your call. Squirrelhunter91
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call The directions that the calls come from worked for me. Now I am pretty decent on a diaphragm.

magnatecsteve
Re: Learning to Use a Diaphragm Call When I first started trying to learn the diaphragm, I tried all kinds of directions, videos, whatever.....I still sounded more like a goose than a turkey. It just takes LOTS of practice till you get good...THEN use the videos or CD's to perfect the sounds. Don't get frustrated, it's like riding a bike, after you figure it out, then you learn how to do all those cool tricks. Just get the balsic yelps and putts first. Since you are already an experienced hunter, you should pick it up pretty fast. GOOD LUCK!!
