johnf
I've got a thompson scout, which has a hammer and uses #11primers. My scope is getting a lot of powder burn on the outside. I know why, but was wandering if it will harm my scope and what should I clean it with.
billkay
Re: Scope quetion You can buy a scope protector for it. I know Knight makes one.
AJ
Re: Scope quetion The Scout gives a lot of blow back and if you leave the residue on the scope, in time it will etch the scope as it is corrosive. Clean the scope tube just like you clean the action. Wipe down the exterior of the scope after shooting.
DannoBoone1
Re: Scope quetion You can completely solve your scope problem if you: Detach the scope. Sell the Scout. Buy a 10ML-II. Mount the scope to the 10ML. Problem solved...no more powder burns.

David_218
Re: Scope quetion I too had problems with powder residue on my scoped M/L. I found a solution....I use a peep sight now on my T/C Black Diamond, and receive just as good of accuracy.
LETMGROW
Re: Scope quetion Rub a little DL hand cleaner on the affected area. The residue will come right off!
