I think these three rifles might be big enough for any game on the planet.

I took the expensive explorers guided tour of the Mighty Missouri in Pearl Harbor last week. I recomend it.

Sweet!!! Thanks for the pics. Those are some serious varmint rifles! I remember reading an article in G&A a couple few decades back about the Navy's 16" varmint rifles. They were classified as varmint rifles due to their extreme accuracy at extended ranges. Shooting something that big weighing in at 2,700 pounds (18,900,000 grain bullets) and hitting the target over 20 miles (36,000 yards) away is pretty impressive. They can still penetrate 30 feet of concrete. They do have some serious muzzleblast though:

Xen,

Your picture is very cool. I think that must have been during Desert Storm because most of the 5" mounts have been replaced with Cruise Missle Platforms. They wouldn't let us onto that deck durig the recent tour we had.

Also of note is that the shells I am standing next to in the first set of pictures are a 16" from WWII era ships and a 14" from one of the older battlewagons. Goes to show how much bigger the 16" is. The aerodynamic cap is missing from the 14".
