tallone
Went to the lease and got all of my stands off the place. I couldn't stand the way it was ran and staying in a camp with a person that runs it's who is there everytime you go NEVER shuts up and won't let you relax finally got the best of me.He won't allow people to bring campers so he has someone to talk to. (We had a old house everyone stayed in) There was the camp rules and his own set of rules that only applied to him I'm sure you all know the type. I'll be looking for my own place to lease along with a couple of friends so I won't have to endure crap like this again. I just couldn't believe how much stuff I had, every year I would buy this and that not relalizing how much there was! Anyways just had to vent a little. unioncountyslayer
Re: Well thats it My Dad and I getting our own lease where only the two of us hunt is the best thing I ever did. Good luck finding a place of your own.

Tominator
Re: Well thats it I keep telling my buddy Ohiobucks, for me lately, it's not about the deer, but about the comraderie. Tom made the mistake of being a good friend and a ton of fun to hunt with. I hear you. I don't hunt with people I don't like hanging around, it's just not fun. I think you made the right decision. tallone
Re: Well thats it It wasn't bad until this year. The past years had people I enjoyed being around but he ran them off with the same crap and ended getting some of his friends in who are just as bad as he is. It might take a while to find soemthing else but it will be worth it. The only upside to him being around it would make me stay in the woods longer. LETMGROW
Re: Well thats it There are a lot of leases out there but you have to look for them. They won't come to you. You must be willing to pay or work for the landowner to get leases. A farmer friend of mine remarked the other night," I have people stop the day before hunting season and ask for permission to hunt my land. Where were they last summer when I was putting in hay and other crops?"Talk with people and be willing to cut deals. Start now. Don't wait! tallone
Re: Well thats it I've been looking on some real estate websites that specialize in hunting leases and a couple look promising. There's not a lot of farms around here so it's either getting hooked up with a paper company or going thru a agent. I won't mind paying more for my own place that i have control over. Rhino
Re: Well thats it tallone I don't blame you. Life is just too short to put up with someone that takes the fun out of it. I really enjoy my time in the field but I also really enjoy the the fun of sharing it with my camp buddies too. If you're in a camp and can't do both, it tends to take the fun out of hunting that way. Good luck finding another place for yourself and your buddies you enjoy hanging out with. BTW, I can relate to all the hunting gear gathering problems. I'd be in one heck of a bind if I had to get all my stands and gear and take all my toys home too. Guest Xen
Re: Well thats it sorry to hear about that, good luck finding a new place. seems to be more and more hunters are just flat out calling it quits because they can't find anywhere to hunt.
