ksbowhntr77
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 We need to come up with a name for the team. A good and catchy one. One that no one will forget.
VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 I am here too. This will be my 2nd turkey contest and I should do ok. I am going on a guided hunt in the southern part of my state with Vtbowhunter (Josh). Last time we hunted together I had my 1st bird ever down within the 1st hours of the 1st day. Same for my 2nd bird the very next day. he knows where they are! LOL I know I am listed as Vtbowman, which is what I went by for a few years. GrnMntMan is just my new lable. LOL As for a team name I am open to anthing thing. Spur Spankers Strut Busters Limb Hangers Tom-asuares Wrecks (or Rex)

VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 You will find that most people do not care what the team is called. Its a pain picking a name and having everyone like it. Believe me it took me about 3 weeks to get our deer contest name finalized last fall. LOL Lets give it some time to see who else chimes in and give there ideas and choose from there. Although the names go fast so we can't wait to long. Anyone else out there? ksbowhntr77
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 At the rate that we have started we may be the only ones. I hope not, the others need to have fun too.
VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 What others...??? Sad to not see anyone else chime in. I hate it when that happens. You get 1 or 2 guys that NEVER show up and it hurts the team a lot. We will see...

Nodlew
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 Hey All, Sorry for not dropping in sooner. I am cool with any name that everyone likes!!! I am from NE Wisconsin, aobut 40 mi SW of Green Bay. I am hunting the 3rd season in WI--April 19-23rd. I haven't been turkey hunting long, 4 years, but I have been successful the last two years. I am married with a 20 month old daughter. I am fortunate to have a willing wife, access to land, and a work schedule that allow me to spend a decent amount of time chasing critters--mainly whitetail and turkey. I am looking forward to hunting with family and friends this upcoming season. I will be hunting with my brother-in-law, his 2nd time turkey hunting, I want to be a part of his bagging his first Tom! I plan to go with my father-in-law and also with a buddy that will be his first time out. The population of turkeys in my area has been increasing every year..we will have a great time chasing these critters...and hopefully have good opportunities! I have a question for the team--are any of you using any of the Hevi Shot or similar shot? Experiences? Advise? I shoot a Rem 870, 3", .670 Pure Gold Choke. Thanks in advance, Weldon
VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 I use the exact same gun but with a tru glo .665 choke. Shooting Federal 3" #5s. Glad to have ya on board!
ksbowhntr77
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 Yeah, any of the Remington shot is good especially the Hevi Shot. I got a box of the Nitro Load this year to see if it works. I am shooting the exact same gun, I assume that yours is an Express Magnum. I use the Rem. Full Choke and have done well. One of these days I'll splurge and get a turkey choke.

Nodlew
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 GrnMntMan--I liked your idea of, "Tom-asaurus Wrecks." I plan to get out this weekend and do a little shed hunting and turkey scouting. My neighbor found a nice one this past wkend, he believes that he has the bucks shed from last year. On the way home from work yesterday, I saw a flock of 25+ birds in a picked corn field just to the North of the land I hunt on...hard to count exactly at 60 mph I have a pretty good idea where these birds are roosting, so I hope to confirm it this weekend. VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 My area of the state is just now starting to see birds in the last few years. The southern part is where they are all at. Lucky for me I am goof friends with Josh (Vtbowhunter-Mod) and his family has a huge chunk of land to include an entire mountian. (BirdEye Mt) Anyways thats my great big hope of getting a scorable bird. Tom-asaures Wrecks is not a common name thats for sure. LOL How about it folks? "Team Tom-asuares Wrecks (#19)" (or "Rex"?) ksbowhntr77
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 Sounds good to me. We need a name that's for sure. Maybe the rest of our team will show up sometime, that would be nice. It will be kinda hard to score high with just three of us, don't you think? VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 Well if they dont show then we will have to bag some real Tom-asuare Wreckz. LOL No less the 15" breads, 4" spurs and at least 50# in weight. We can do it!!!!! LOL
VTbowman
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #19 I just PMed the othe 3 that have yet to check in. You guys grow them BIG J/K By the sounds of it you will be in for a little adventure, and that, to me, is the best part Bird Eye Mountain...pretty cool, you will need to post some pictures of it. UUUggghhh 1st time I went up it it was dark and my legs were sooooooo burnin, man what a hike. Took 2 birds in the very 1st hour of my 1st 2 days hunting on it though. Worth the pain...
