IowaDeerHunter
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 Well our season was cut short once again. Which is nothing new for us. In the past five years of turkey hunting we have gotten thunderstorms. Two years ago we got hailed on in the field. We got to hunt Firday. And Saturday Morning, before some tornadic storms moved through. It all around sucked. That about sums up my year for turkeyu hunting. borch
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 That is an awsome tom! That 75.5 definitely help your team score. If I recall correctly it's the second highest scoring bird, just behind boonencricket's 76 even. Again way to go!

slaw
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 Great job Ex, we did good this year for being short -handed. and we are temporarily in the lead with only 3 birds. we should have thought of this earlier in the year, to let one hunter submit a second bird, (fullfan) then we would have almost been untouchable. great job team, is IOWADEERHUNTER still hunting??? even a jake might seal the deal for us. IowaDeerHunter
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 No guys, I am done hunting. Sorry I could not connect on anything, never have enough time to get it done. With school we only have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to hunt, and then we can still go fourth season but we never get out since our hunting land is hour and a half away. We hunted Friday, and Half of Saturday, the birds never came to the calls at all, even the other people I talked to that hunt around there had the same trouble. They wouldn't even come into the decoys. On our first setup we had a jake 80 yards away and then the disk came through the field less than 100 yards behind us. On 800 they had to disk this one part while we were there. So we moved over the hills. There were a lot of turkeys in the crick bottom and one strutter about 200 yards away. we sat forever eventually getting kicked out by the tractor and disk. So we moved over the next hill, and had a hen come in to 20 yards. We eventually hit the opposite end of the section and dad picked us up with the truck. We setup on our other 160 acres and had two hens come in within 10 yards but no toms, or jakes. The next morning we hunted in a field where they were sturtting the day before. My dad had the spring jealosy setup and had a tom come within 50 yards, just barely out of range for his ten gauge that does not pattern worth a crap. It sat their for five ten minutes and eventually turned around and walked off, and then got chased away by two other toms. That was our 2006 turkey season, it sucked. The rest of saturday was shut out by rain/thunderstorms/tornadoes. We came home and were done. I sure wish I was able to connect with a trukey because it would almost give us a sure win in the contest. CUTTER10X how you doin?
Fullfan
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 Guys I think we all had fun with this and it was a great effort by all. I see we are in first place by .4 tents of a point. Would have been nice to enter a second bird. I know that there is a week left here in Pa. I don't know how many others are still hunting?? Maybe we can hang on to out lead??
slaw
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 I think the team we are just ahead of has a mature gobbler that will replace the jake that was last entered, that should put them well ahead of us, but it is yet to be submitted... Fullfan
Re: Realtree Turkey Team #25 slaw, Correct me if I am wrong but the rules say that you have to enter the first bird you kill.
