ParrotHead Posted November 17, 2004 Report Share Posted November 17, 2004 I understand that Muslims are a bit upset that an injured insurgent was shot in a Mosque in Fallujah. Tell you what. There's a lot of Marines who are upset about being shot at from Mosques. When insurgents attack American forces from Mosques, those building cease being a Mosque. They become an enemy stronghold. When the world's Muslims show one-half the concern for the actions of their brethren that they express over the actions of American and coalition forces maybe we'll start paying some attention. The Pentagon says that it's concerned how this video is going to play in the Arab world. At this point, who gives a ****? The Arab world is quite proud of the videos it shows of Arabs cutting heads off Americans. They seem to handle that quite well. They even celebrate it. Let them be angered. We're angered too. When they start to adopt some semblance of civilized behavior maybe we'll start being more concerned about their feelings. Sadly to many in the world they just do not seem to get it that we are helping these people. Think the media has everything to do with that. I'm not saying we all need to live sheltered lives, but the media needs to step back and let things happen instead of influencing the outcome. As Americans, we hold ourselves to a higher standard and will not tolerate actions such as these - if they are not justified. And, if the soldier acted improperly, he will be held accountable. As he should be. The arabs and the media can be upset about this, but don't jump to conclusions. We haven't seen the full, un-edited version of the video. Plus, it's common for the insurgents to b o o b y-trap dead bodies with IEDs to blow up soldiers when they move the body and for insurgents to pretend injury or death until the soldier gets close and then open up with firearms. AND, where was the anger from these same "terrorist sheet heads" for the dozens of people be-headed by the insurgents or the beating and burning of civilians who were then hung from bridges.
