Re: 22-250 or .204 ???????????

My vote goes for the 22-250 or 220 swift. Mainly because There are so many different brands, weights, and bullet designs for the 22 caliber. The .204 is pretty limited compared to the other two. Also for coyote hunting purposes i deff prefer the 22 caliber just b/c its bigger diameter and heavier weight.

I was orriginaly looking at a >204...but my dad pointed out hte issue of ammo price. Even reloading your own .204 is gonna be expensive...I am now leaning towards the .22-250 since the balistics are so similar and the .22 cal bullets are much cheaper and more varried in type weight etcetera.

i would go with the 22-250 if you will be hunting yotes alot. the reason is that it has a bigger bullet and it goes a long ways.

I shoot both and love both. The 204 is flatter and faster with no muzzle jump, so you see the bullet workoing, and man does it work. The 22-250 is also one of my favs but oddly it has close to the same bullet performance as the 204 the 250 is heavier but slower by a little, and the 204 is lighter but faster. in the end they are about the same.....my fave is the 204!!!

22-250 or 220 Swift.

Personally I'd go Swift first if you reload. 22-250 if you don't.

The varmint world seems pretty excited about the .204, but I'm not a believer yet.

i wasnt till i shot and owned one now i will swear by it. id put it up against any varmint gun out there for acc. and knock down

Re: 22-250 or .204 ???????????

I shoot a .223 and it will do the job just as well as the others. It may not have as much range, but it is good to 500 yards on groundhogs. I am thinking of adding a Remington 700 VLS with the bull barrel and laminated stock to the arsenal in 22.250.
