They seem to be dropping fast now. First Don Knotts, then Darrin McGavin, and now Dennis Weaver. All good actors that will be missed.

Mr. Dillon, Mr. Dillon!

OK. Let's get this straight. Dennis Weaver was first Chester on Gunsmoke and later played the part of McCloud.

Ken Curtis was Festus on Gunsmoke after Dennis Weaver left the show.

A side note to dogdoc: Howard McNear who played Doc on the original Gunsmoke radio show was later on the Andy Griffith show as Floyd, the barber.

Here's a true story...

There was a little kid back in the 50's that started limping one day. His parents got worried and took him to the hospital. They worked on him for awhile, but couldn't find anything wrong. They sent him home, but the limp persisted. After a couple more trips to see the doctor, they finally sent him off to see a specialist. The specialist checked him out, but couldn't find anything wrong either. Finaly, in desperation, the specialist asked the kid why he was limping. The kid said "My name's Chester and I work for Marshall Dillon!" grin.gif
